Carrying 1,860 passengers on board, Star Cruises' flagship cruise liner Superstar Virgo returned to Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal at 7:00 a.m. on January 7th, 2016 to embark on its seasonal homeport deployment, offering itineraries to Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Vietnam.

Yue Jin, Deputy Secretary of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Sanya; Ou Fuyao, founding president of Star Cruises; and Liu Junli, GM of the Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal, welcomed passengers at the joint inspection hall and delivered commemoratory envelopes and Sanya tourist maps to the tourists.
The passengers visited Sanya's major attractions after disembarking. At 3:00 p.m. Superstar Virgo departed from Sanya and headed to Guangzhou.
Starting from January 7th, guests can enjoy a seven-night round-trip cruise holiday that starts and ends in Sanya. The cruises depart from Sanya every Thursday and call at Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Vietnam's Halong Bay, and Danang, creating new and appealing cruise holidays for guests from the region and beyond.
SuperStar Virgo's homeport deployment is expected to help galvanize the development of Sanya's cruise terminal facilities and the growth of the local cruise tourism economy, including provisioning and other supporting businesses.
As the flagship cruise liner of Star Cruises, the 13-storey SuperStar Virgo is equipped with 935 cabins, including sea-view cabins and balcony suites. Offering a wide variety of dining, shopping and entertainment options, its facilities include an international buffet, Chinese and Japanese restaurants, an alfresco bar, a foot reflexology salon and spa, a hairdressing salon, a gym, steam and sauna rooms, a 100-metre mega water slide, an outdoor swimming pool, a mini golf course, a two-level theatre, duty-free shops, a karaoke room, a children's activity centre, meeting rooms, and more.
